Cycle of pain

I have been taking Mondays off to spend some more time with Alannah. She went through the stages of shock, denial, anger, despair (yes! this was a horrible time..) and now, testing. Eventually, reality starts to bite and she has been happier, probably realising she cannot be angry to be in plaster for a long time.

Marisa said she tried to crawl in her plaster the other day - she is definitely testing the waters, so to speak. Acceptance will only come when she starts pushing and pulling herself around the house like she did when she had her first hip operation.

We can understand that by the time she accepts and tries to move around in her spica, it may be time for it to be removed. She will probably remember this period as she is old enough unlike the last time. She has lost weight, but she has started to eat more these past few days.
