Google maps recently launched in Australia, but it is fair to say that their map is a little old. They could have at least updated their Australian maps before launching. In comparison, whereis.com.au is better with regards to the travel time and choice of route. Google maps' recommendation for direction is 17.4 km (about 24 minutes) and whereis' is 12.29 km (about 15 minutes) in using the same source and destination. Obviously, we already know the fastest way to go to Nonna's house for dinner on Monday nights.
In Google maps, our house also points to an empty block - which is wrong. I reckon the maps are at least 5 years old.
